DYI your own Anti-aging serum !

In the past, I have spent quite some time searching for the perfect serum, falling for many marketing tricks advertising their useless products. I've paid a lot money and most of the times have really been very disappointed, regretting falling for the marketing tricks, which lead to my interest in making my own products. I took aromatherapy classes, I did a lot of research, I practiced a lot. But now, using the knowledge I've gained, I am making my own products; for myself, and for my clients. Natural products are good, have the least amount of side effects, are most efficient and make you feel and look great!
Have you ever consider making your own serum? Something that's natural, made by you, free of harmful preservatives and beneficiary for your fragile skin? Today I will give you some simple instructions on how to do so!

This recipe for an ANTI-AGING serum is simple. It is good for all types of skin, and really good for mature skin or skin with wrinkles.

for a 1 oz  amber glass vial dropper you will need:

2 tablespoons Organic Argan Oil
1 heaping tablespoon of organic Rosehip Oil
2 drops of Grapefruit Essential Oil
5 drops of essential oil Rockrose Cistus Ladaniferus
5 drops of essential oil of Geranium Pelargonium Graveolens or Damascus Rose "Rosa Damascena" if your wallet allows it, because the rose essential oil can be expensive depending on the quality, but definitely it does the job! (you can combine both if you wish)  - DO NOT USE FRAGRANCE OILS-

It is important to add the essential oils (E.O.) in the order they appear to the recipe in order to dilute them properly for maximum effect, but if you miss this order you will still have a good result.  Once you add the E.O. to your carrier oil mixture (argan + rosehip), cap the bottle and close it tightly, shake gently by rolling in your palms, and your serum is ready to use!

HOW TO USE IT!

1.No matter what time of the day you apply your cream or serum, you need to wash your face first! By washing your face you get rid of grime, toxins, sweat, makeup, etc allowing the skin pores to absorb the creams or serums and work their magic! Try using a gentle cleaner,
a natural soap like the ones we make for our Mortar and Pestle skincare line that are free of sulfates and toxins.

2. Always apply the cream on damp skin as the cream applies better moisture on damp skin!

3. Apply 6-8 drops every morning and evening to your clean face and neck . Once your serum is absorbed  you can still apply your favorite face cream if you wish. Avoid additional creams if you have oily skin.

For mature and very dry skin gentle massage is necessary.
If you are over 30 years, massage gently
your face without hurry. A two minute massage on your face every time you apply your serum or your cream is the secret to a youthful skin without deep wrinkles. Remember
that a patting style massage on your skin is always better than strong circular massage. You need to make sure that you are patting on your eye cremes/serums from the inner to the outer corner of your eye area (avoiding direct contact in your eyes) and then patting little by little your face cremes/ serums from the jawline upward and from the nasolabial lines (the parenthesis that eventually frames ours mouths) outward, and on your neck patting upward to your chin.

yours,

~Emmanuel

Shea Butter for the Face, one gift from nature!

Common names: Shea, karité
Scientific name: Vitellaria paradoxa (syn/INCI Butryospermum parkii)
Shea butter is a natural product. It is a creamy-colored fatty substance made from the nuts of karite (SHEA) nut trees (Butyrospermum parkii or "butter seed") that grow wild in the Savannah regions of West and East Africa.  Shea butter  it is well known for its exceptional dermatological and cosmetic healing properties.

Shea nuts are extracted then cracked, grilled and pounded to extract the butter which is then boiled in water until the fresh Shea butter rises to the surface. It is then scooped and left to cool and set, no chemicals or synthetic substances are needed at any stage. The final product is the raw Shea butter, or is called "unrefined Shea butter"

Remember that all  Shea butters are not the same!
All Shea butter are not the same. Shea butter loses healing properties the longer it sits on the shelf which causes old Shea butter to be much less beneficial. Highly processed Shea Butter will not be as effective. Some companies mix Shea butter with other ingredients that reduce its benefits.

-Be aware of very inexpensive products that claim to provide the full benefits of Shea butter. -

DIY steam inhalation with lavender essential oil

DIY steam inhalation with lavender essential oil :

Add a total of 3-4 drops of lavender essential oil to a bowl of hot water and inhale for around 8-10 minutes. Close eyes and cover head with towel. Be careful not to burn yourself with the water or the steam. (Not to be used for asthma or allergy relief )

"Lavender oil is widely used for various respiratory problems including throat infections, flu, cough, cold, sinus congestion, bronchitis, whooping cough, laryngitis, and tonsillitis. The oil is either used in the form of vapor or is applied on the skin of the neck, chest and back. It is also added to many vaporizers and inhalers that are commonly used for colds and coughs. The stimulating nature of lavender essential oil can also loosen up the phlegm and it is believed to relieve the congestion associated with respiratory conditions, speeding up the recovery process and helping the body naturally eliminate phlegm and other unwanted material. The vapor of lavender essential oil also has antibacterial qualities which can battle respiratory tract infections"
